Primary Care Physician
Dr. Scott Maurer has over 30 years of experience specializing in primary care internal medicine and geriatrics.
His practice is founded on dual principles: to provide competent clinical treatment and build strong relationships with his patients so he can to meet their exact needs. By using clinical skills including interviewing, physical examination, and thoughtful analysis, he is able to offer quality care. The small size of his office also minimizes the barriers to communication often found in larger practices.
Dr. Maurer’s commitment to excellence stretches far beyond the examination room. His interest in harnessing technology to better serve his patients is one of his top priorities. This has been done through the implementation of the Patient Portal, voice messaging, bidirectional exchange of health information with hospitals and other doctors, and the on-going development of a more convenient online consultation service. His focus on incorporating technology into the office is intended to empower patients to take their health management into their own hands—through easier access to personal medical histories, test results, and educational resources—and to bolster his capabilities as well.
An active member in the medical community, Dr. Maurer has a strong affiliation with Howard County General Hospital, a division of Johns Hopkins Medicine. He leverages this network of professionals to keep his skill-set sharp and expand the resources he is able to offer his patients.
